Attention: Death, Disorder vs. ESKIS

This piece is the marriage of two graphic narratives I've been developing with the help of a few friends for the last couple of years. The first "Attention: Death, Disorder" I dreamed up with Owen Milburn late one night in the fall of 2004. A:D,D we figured could be summed up in one sentence: A post apocalyptic matriarchal society leading to an androgynous race. The second narrative being what started out as The Eskiboys in November 2008 with Rami Roppo and Jamie Bizness, and has developed into Eskis today, if for no other reason than to be gender non-specific. Its hard to sum this one up other than to say it represents a global psychic connection of like minded and caring people. "There are many truths" says Rami.

So in this piece the Eskis are being empowered by the matriarchy of A:D,D to topple Christianity, and thus the paper on the barbwire in the foreground that reads "The End of Men". The sideways cross is one consistent use of symbols adopted by our narrative to both represent the present day misuse and misrepresentation of religion, and to poke fun at the Satanists for the mainstream use of the upside down cross. The Foreground Character is in classic A:D,D stencil style and features blood red hair which could be interpreted as the blood of a war like struggle, or the rust of infrastructures decay.

This piece sums up the narratives well in that the mixture of fact and fiction, peppered with humour has been the driving dynamic that brought about their existence in the first place.
